FlotRisCo MOOC

The MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) Flotrisco is an online course, free and open to all. Flotrisco covers study of coastal risks, particularly erosion and submersion risk. For this second session, the course is designed in collaboration with scientists from the European Institute for Marine Studies (IUEM) and from the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR). This course includes conceptual contributions, expert interviews, interacting, practical activities and projects. This allows participants according to their level of involvement, to simply understand coastal risks or further on, to analyse and develop a complete risk management process. This course will be focussing on exchanges, cooperation between MOOC participants, and co-production of new knowledge.

Taking place over seven consecutive weeks from May 9th to June 24th 2016, FlotRisCo addresses several topics to understand the multiple dimensions of the risks and hazards of the coastal society, to develop a systematic approach of risk management. For each topic a variety of resources will be available, and contributions of the participants will be welcome and valued.
